Visa information:

The Visa Section of the Consulate of Mongolia is located on the 11th floor of Wayson Commercial Building, 28 Connaught Road West, Hong Kong. Sheung Wan MTR Station Exit ¡§C¡¨, opposite side of Shun Tak Centre (HK-Macau Ferry Terminal).

 

Office hours run from 9:30 to 12:30. The office is closed on Saturdays, Sundays, Mongolian and Hong Kong public holidays.

 

In principle, everyone entering Mongolian territory must have a visa. However, due to Visa Exemption Agreements concluded with some countries, this is not always the case.

Visa requirements:

1.    Passport, valid for more than 6 months from the date of entry into Mongolia.
2.    Copy of the passport (the side with your name, date of birth, picture, etc.)
3.    One application form Please, click here to download the Application Form duly filled out and         signed by the applicant.
4.    One passport-size photos taken recently.
5.    Copy of Hong Kong I.D. Card, if available.
6.    Copy of air and/or railway tickets, if available.
7.    Travel itinerary (if the visit is for more than 7 days).
8.    Supporting document:

a) Either an invitation of the receiving entity (government, non-governmental organization, business entity) or an official request of the sending organization;
b) Or, for tourists wishing to stay over one week up to 90 days, a letter of invitation from a travel agency of Mongolia.
c) Or, if you are traveling on a personal invitation of a citizen of Mongolia, an invitation approved by the State Centre for Civil Registration and Information or Police Department of Mongolia, and applicant's written statement concerning his/her financial credibility to cover his/her stay in Mongolia.
d) For those passing Mongolia in transit, onward ticket and visa for next destination is required.

 

In addition, applicants may be requested to provide any other document deemed necessary, like a leave letter from your employer and evidence of funds to support yourself. You may lodge your application personally or have someone lodge it for you. Alternatively, you may approach a travel agency to apply for a visitor visa for Mongolia. Most travel agencies in Hong Kong handle visa processing on behalf of their clients for a fee.

Visa validity:

A visa may be issued for a stay of up to 30 days. Single entry/exit and transit visas are valid for entry within 60 days from the date of issue.

 

Visa Fee:

Single entry and exit visa fee is US$55.00 (HK$429.00) and it will be processed within 3 working days. Urgent single entry and exit visa fee is US$80.00 (HK$624.00) and it will be processed within 1 working day.

Single transit visa fee is US$45.00 (HK$351.00) and it will be processed within 3 working days. Urgent single transit visa fee is US$70.00 (HK$546.00) and it will be processed within the same day.

 

Countries with Visa Exemption Agreements:

LIST OF COUNTRIES AND REGION WITH NON-VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL TYPES OF PASSPORTS:

1.    Singapore - 14 days for all types of passports;
2.    Philippines - 21 days for all types of passports;
3.    Malaysia - 30 days for all types of passports;
4.    Israel - 30 days for all types of passports;
5.    Cuba - 30 days for all types of passports;
6.    Kazakhstan - 90 days for all types of passports.
7.    Macau ¡V 90 days for all types of passports.
8.    Hong Kong - 14 days for Hong Kong S.A.R. passports holders. Hong Kong
        S.A.R. passport holders have to obtain a visa if he/she intend to stay
       for more than 14 days.

Notwithstanding, please note that Hong Kong Certificate of Identity and Document of Identity holders are required to obtain a visa.

LIST OF COUNTRIES WITH NON-VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMATIC AND SERVICE PASSPORT HOLDERS:

A)
1.  Russia - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 90 days, holders of ordinary passports       need a visa;
2.  Laos - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 90 days, holders of ordinary passports      need a visa;
3.  Yugoslavia - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 90 days, holders of ordinary      passports need a visa;
4.  Czech Republic - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 90 days, holders of ordinary       passports need a visa;
5.  Slovak - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 90 days, holders of ordinary passports       need a visa;
6.  DPRK - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 30 days, holders of ordinary passports       need a visa;
7.  Republic of Korea - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 30 days, holders of       ordinary passports need a visa;
8.  Thailand - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 30 days, holders of ordinary       passports need a visa;
9.  Turkey - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 30 days, holders of ordinary       passports need a visa;
10. Hungary - no visa for diplomatic and service passports within 30 days, holders of ordinary        passports need a visa.

B)
1.  China - no visa for diplomatic and service passports, holders of ordinary passport need an official       invitation and a visa;
2.  Vietnam - no visa for diplomatic and service passports, holders of ordinary passports need an       official invitation;
3.  Bulgaria - no visa for diplomatic and service passports, holders of ordinary passport need a visa;
4.  Romania - no visa for diplomatic and service passports, holders of ordinary passport need a visa;
5.  Poland - no visa for diplomatic and service passports, holders of ordinary passport need a visa;
6.  Mexico - no visa for diplomatic and service passports, holders of ordinary passport need a visa.

LIST OF COUNTRIES WITH NON-VISA FEE AGREEMENT:

India - All types of passports need a visa. All visas will be issued on gratis basis, however US$20.00 (HK$156.00) will be levied for processing of visa applications.
